Using it
Your family, your account, your things
- Accounts
- You need an account to use the app, with an email address you can confirm. Keep your password to yourself; what is done from your account is on you.
- Children
- A parent in the family is responsible for the children’s accounts in it, and for deciding what they can do.
- What you add is yours
- Chores, events, notes and the rest belong to your family. We store and show them only to run the app for you, as the privacy policy describes.
- Fair use
- Don’t use it to break the law, to harass anybody, or to get at somebody else’s family, and don’t try to overload or break the service. We may close an account that does.
- Leaving
- You can delete your account from your account page whenever you like.
What it costs
Free, with extra asks if you want them
Everything in Family Chores is free, and every family gets 25 Create with AI asks. A parent can buy more, once at a time — never a subscription:
- 50 asks
- $3
- 150 asks
- $5
- 300 asks
- $10
Prices are in US dollars; Stripe may show them to you in your own currency. Asks are added to the whole family as soon as the payment goes through, and they do not expire. They are not money, have no cash value and cannot be moved to another family. Purchases are sold through Stripe’s Link, which is the seller of record, collects any sales tax and sends your receipt.
Refunds
Changed your mind? Tell us
If you bought asks by mistake, write to us within 24 hours of buying and we will refund the purchase, less any asks already used. Link, which handled the payment as the seller of record, has its own refund policy and may refund you directly for longer, and where the law where you live gives you more time to change your mind, you have that too. If a payment went through and the asks never arrived, write to us at any time and we will add them.
Create with AI
A suggestion, and nothing is saved until you say
Create with AI fills in the chore form from what you type. It can be wrong, so read what it suggests before you save; nothing is added until you press Save. An ask counts when it comes back with a suggestion, not when it fails.
What we promise
Care, not guarantees
We run Family Chores with care and try to keep it working and your information safe, but it is provided as it is, without guarantees that it will always be available or free of mistakes. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses from using it, and our total responsibility is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before. We may change these terms; if we do, the date at the top changes, and for anything important we will tell you in the app first.
